Every good technical product needs to be guided by an overall philosophy. The following tenets are either goals we strive for, or self-imposed limitations to control the scope of our CMS project. The Future section helps to explain where we are with respect to the goals set by this philosophy.
This philosophy hasn't all been derived from Platonic axioms and then incrementally implemented into Presto. Instead, by trial and error, by experimentation, and by iteration, we have come to value these principles.
We offer up these ideas as a tentative step towards supporting the freedom of information landscape that the open source approach encourages.
