Microsoft Access behaves just like MS SQL Server in terms of content storage, although it does not have the facility to restore backed-up data down to the transaction level. Most ISP's will restore the last backup of the entire file that they have on hand but this data can be a week or a month old, for example.
For this and other reasons, MS Access does not have quite the robustness to support websites that are performing (and storing the data of) many transactions for many users.
