Presto Content Management System

About Presto

This section aims to satisfy most questions about Presto's functionality, support model, and position with respect to other products on the market.

Generally, Presto is a content management system combined with an application development toolset.  It has been developed over many iterations on more than 50 small and mendium sized clients.  Like other leading CMS's, Presto recognizes that many clients need their website to be more than just a place to provide documents.  Web interactivity is a natural part of the flow of information in and out of an organization.  Presto emphasises the clean organization of both hierarchic document information and the forms and reports that channel information back and forth between a client and its audience.

We've done alot of work on "backend" usability, by developing a simple interface for content authors, and successively more feature-laden interfaces for content managers and administrators.  Thankfully, the drag & drop approach to management of many aspects of the system has kept the functional clutter and training requirements lower than all the other comparable CMS's on the market that we have seen.

Presto emphasizes form management, and the integration of forms and other applications hand in hand with web page content.  Presto is not a "boxed" CMS solution because it preserves the pristine graphical and document prestentation work that web designers produce. Consequently Presto web programmers are required to do the technical work to integrate a client's website with Presto's navigation and content management systems.  Under the hood, Presto is elegant, and this translates to time savings for experienced programmers, but there are still alot of machine parts to know about.
